I just got a new act 2600......At first if you press the pedal all the way to the floor it wouldnt shift at all.........if you press the pedal about half to 3/4 way in it shifts fine........also there is like 2 stages to the clutch.....at first when pressing its like a stock feel then at about half way it gets really hard for the rest. I adjusted the clutch position so now it engages at the floor....but it engages about a half inch of letting the pedal out and theres about 3 inches of free play at the begining.........i think im going to bleed the clutch again.....any suggestions?

Did you upgrade or resurface your old flywheel? If not, do so. If so, Bleed the clutch again, and again.. and again.. DSM's can be a PITA in the bleeding dept. When adjusting your master cylinder nut for engagement (under the dash @ the clutch petal) you want atleast 3/4-1inch free play before the clutch goes into engagement. When you do a clutch job it's also wise to replace the master/slave cylinders just to make sure everything is fresh to. have you checked your slave cylinder and made sure it was re-installed and the rod isn't getting stuck? I'm sure there's a couple things i'm missing but that should put you on your feet. :thumb:

if you do get your flywheel resurfaced make sure they do it to spec...i believe the step hight should be .612 but don't quote me on that. also when i had a 2600 in my laser it didn't wanna disengage well so i put 2 washer behind the clutch fork pivot ball. not only did that clear the problem it also brings you pedal hight up i bit. i did the same thing to my AWD just so my clutch wouldn't disengage at the floor. putting washer in makes a harsh clutch fell a little closer to stock

damn just got it in and i gotta take it out? LOL.........so I should just take the slave out and re install it to make sure the rod is going in good?

as far as the rod goes, have a friend engage your clutch for you and watch the rod extend and make sure it's pushing right, but regardless, you need a new flywheel or to get your old one resurfaced.. i'd opt for the lightened findanza, especially w/ the 2600 series, you'll notice great improvement and it's lighter so it rev's up quicker and to top it off, slap on a aftermarket (lightened/balanced) UDP (under drive pulley) you'd be amazed at the effects it has. good luck and yes, it sucks you have to pull it back off.. i wouldn't drive on it and mess up that new pretty clutch set. while you're down that way i'd check into the SS clutch line kit - runs about 20 bucks and it eliminates that little reservoir.

Why does no one use the longer slave cylinder rods they sell especially for these clutches becasue of this problem. that helped my engage and disengage just fine.
