ok i first off i must say i never buy cheap knock off stuff. second im running a maft at the moment a friend of mine had a upper pipe designed for the maft and is leting me use it. The problem is that its flanged for a greddy bov. he had a ebay knock off he let me use as well. i installed all of it and the bov will not hold boost. i opened it up once already. the metal piece that should open inside the bov had a rubber 0 ring on the other side so i put it back on and then but it on the car still no good. i was wondering if anyone had figured out a way to make it work somewhat. i also notice when i took the top off the bov there was a nut on a on what looked to be a bolt and the nut was loose and the bolt had threads on it. should i try to make that tighter?

the reason i dont want to buy a real one is because ive got a bushur front mount going on soon and im going to put a tial on with it

You are experiencing the true flaw with those knock offs, they tend to leak as they are built very cheaply. I did see a thread on DSMtalk a while back on how to get it to function properly by purchasing some Greddy parts for it. In the end, you are better off getting a real one.

In the mean time, do a boost leak test with the pressure set to the boost level you run. Tighten the adjusting nut until the boost leak quits (or in the case of the cheap valve, almost quits).

Maybe I'm wrong, but to me it sounds like the OP doesn't know how to adjust a Greddy blow off valve. Perhaps, also, without the knowledge to assemble one into working order. I'm not sure though, the post was difficult to understand exactly what was happening.
It's certainly possible the bov is "just ebay crap" and the only solution is to go out and spend $200 on a brand new greddy bov (or weld a new flange and still buy a new bov), but I didn't read anything in his post that merited that immediate, undisputed, conclusion.

The two bovs, ebay and greddy, are mostly identical and the mechanical aspect of the devices are absolutely the same. So long as all the seals are lubed and in place the unit will operate as intended, provided, that the diaphragm is in working condition.

What is the condition of the unit? Did it work before? How many miles are on it? Does it hold any boost at all?
The ebay units use weaker metal for the hardware and a flimsier, less resilient diaphragms, are any of the screws stripped, or other parts damaged? Does it hold any boost at all?

i have a feeling i need to tighen mine more because at like 4k im only at 10lbs of boost im wonder how yours sounds more of bussh noise or like sputering?
