Hey i just recently put a punishment racing front mount intercooler in law away, and i am wanting a blow through setup for a GM MAF setup and he said that its really not made for it but it can be done very easily so i was wondering how am i going to do it and be fairly simple

yea i now where it goes but one the phone i said if it was a blow through setup and he said something like i had to get longer couplers?????????well then he said he really didnt remember if you had to get bigger couplers or switch some pipes around?

yea they actually have pictures of the intake with a GM MAF on it just go to there website and then click on there front mount and then at the bottom they have some pictures of if on a 1g dsm with a blow through set up

The Punishment setup is for 1Gs, and it's short-route piping. But again, it really shouldn't be difficult to modify it to use a 3" GM MAS, you just will have to use reducer couplers and replace a chunk of piping, instead of having the pipe expand as with some other blowthrough kits.

Ok thanxs guys for helping me out i really do appreciate it, ok so you are saying that basically i need to just have somone cut like half inch out of the pipe, and also LOL i am an idiot i'm pretty sure that its flanged for a 1g blow off valve but i dont even know i assume it is

ok there two ways to intall the gm sensor eaither in the place of the stock mass or in the upper iintercooler pipes. if you have a front mount with short route all you need to do is cut a small section out of the upper pipe and get cuplers that are 2.5 inch on one side and 3inch on the other. if the intercooler is installed it should on take a few mins to cut out a section of pipe and put the sensor in. make sure you look at the gm sensor when you intall it there are arrows on it to show what way it ineeds to go or your will not run correctly

ok, thanxs guys, so really it doesnt matter where i put the GM MAF as long as its in the upper intercooler piping

And closer to the throttle body than the BOV.

Er... and the 3" GM MAS and reducer couplers is closer to 6-10" long... it's a considerable part of the pipe that has to go away.

The best way to do this is why you have all the parts in front of you. Attached the couplers to either side of the GM MAF and lay it next to your uicp (closer to the tb and right before the tb elbow bend). Then make marks on the pipe as compared to the couplers. Don't make them at the end of the couplers as the pipe actually has to go inside of them so make it close to where the coupler expands. Then, your bov will go closer to the core than the GM MAF.

Just make sure to measure a few times so you only have to cut once.

ok so do i cut just like an inch for the maf, or do i cut a big space like from coupler to coupler?

You need to line it up (in the engine bay) to figure out how much to cut out. And you want to cut out coupler to coupler (obviously you can't just cut a small chuck out and put the GM MAF in without a coupler).

You need to leave enough so that the reducer couplers have pipe to be clamped down on, but still enough space for the air to follow the coupler flow. I'd put the IC piping on, then lay the assembled couplers+MAS next to where you want it to go... probably leave an extra inch of pipe on both sides to slip inside the couplers and clamp it down. Requires a little more bolting/unbolting (especially of the throttle body elbow), but will give you a much cleaner/better fitment.
And if you can manage it, re-bead the cut pipe ends. Planning to take mine down to RRE and hand them a few bucks, if they're willing to do it. :D
