Okay, I finally decided on a turbo set-up on my fully-built Talon. I am going with a externally gated 50-Tirm from PTE. While exploring it, I noticed it gave an option for two different A/R ration turbine housings. Know, I know the lesser the A/R, the faster the spool but more back pressure on the top end (street driving), and the higher the A/R, the more the lag but better flow on the top end (track). The two options at hand is .43 A/R and .68 A/R. THe .43 is much like the factory 14B and the .68 close to a big 16G. Is the difference between these that significant? I plan on an almost daily street car with some track. Is the .43 going to be too restrictive for the track? Is the .68 going to be too laggy for the street. Anyone with a similar set-up, your responses are the most valuable!! What would be the more efficient choice?

While still a speculation and largely a product of personal preference, the .63AR housing would be the best of both worlds. IMHO the .43 housing is much too restrictive to maximize the potential of a 50 trim. The .63 will give you a great combination of spoolup time and potential for max output.

If the lag of the stock turbo bothers you, you'll be more bothered by the .68 A/R. If it doesn't bother you, maybe the .68 will start to bother you, maybe not. I personally don't like the lag I have even at .48. I want a variable geometry turbine housing :D.
