white smoke n/t?

Yes i have searched first.
Every time i drive my car and stop at a stop light my car smokes.
When i start driving it stops smoking.
What can be the problem?
I am tired of this smoke
Hope it is not the head gasket my bro-inlaw had his replaced for like $1800.
I am like that guy is frikin rip off man
Where can i get a compression test at?

Should be able to pick one up at autozone or any auto parts type store for $30 and up. Most are like $50. Well worth the money as you can use it on other cars you own as well. Odds are it is your head gasket. Check your oil to see if it is milky, that is a dead give away. White smoke usually means burning coolant because it is leaking into the cylinders, but you probably already knew that.

Let the car sit over night then in the morning crack the oil drain plug loose.
Water is heavier than oil, if green coolant or h20 comes out first, there is coolant in the oil. Have the compression tested and a hydrocarbon test in the cooling system. This will tell you if the head gasket has failed.
