ok i need help on wiring up a cam sensor i have a 97 talon i have the stock sensor but the wires broke right at the sensor nothing to splice back together. so my question is this can i rewire a first gen CAS on my 97? i have the pigtail from the first gen but the wires are different colors. what wires go to what?

I'm not sure about the wiring harness, but the cas plug and wires might plug into the harness on the other end (maybe the CAS plug is part of its own harness that has a plug on both ends). Try tracing the CAS wires back to the harness and see if that's the case.

ok i found the other end of that plug in and now i dont know what to do the colors on the engine harness are black, red, white, brown, but the colors on the first gen sensor harnes are black, small balck, red, and white. should i just put the small black wire to the brown and the big black wire to the other black? would that work?
thanks

I'm a little confused here. You said your cas has 4 wires going to it, but according to the Magnus diagram it should only have 3. Also, the 1g cas and 2g cas sensors shouldn't look the same. Or am I just out in left field?

the 97-99 i believe all have 4 wire connectors. the 97 cas looks like a 1st gen cas it goes on the back of the intake cam. the 95-96 all have a crank and a cam sensor, right?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with 97-99's but yes, 95-96 have crank and cam sensors. If the 1g connector fits the cas ok you should just be able to line up the wires from the old connector to the new connector. Just make sure you get them in the right order.
