Hey guys i am currently in the works of starting my 6 bolt swap on my 2g. My build will be started next week by then i should have gotten some information from you guys to steer me in the right direction. The mods listed below are what i currently have right now and will be installed next week.
Head: Crower springs and retainers Crower 414 cams O-Ringed head 3 angle valve job OEM valves Crower cam gears Greddy timing belt Cyclone intake manifold W/ actuator mod powder coated chrome valve cover

Block: Shep built block 40 over 9.1 Ross pistons Eagle rods new Mitsubishi crank all ARP studs new oil pump new water pump Balance shaft removed.

I want to make 550whp and possibly run 10 seconds. That is my goal but i will settle with 11's or 12's for starters with hopes of improvement once i get the proper tuning. This car will be Daily driven for the most part!

My questions are:

What clutch system do i go with? I was thinking about the ACT2900! What do you guys think? I want to make the correct choice. Ive searched but i still cannot make up my mind.

What injectors do i go with? I currently have some 720cc injectors but i'm seeing everyone going with 1000's! Would the 720cc suffice for my hp goals?

What turbo should i go with? Ive been thinking about the GT35R or the FP3065! Leaning more to FP. My research is showing that they are very much recommended. What do you guys think?
Any feedback is welcomed! Sorry for the long post need help ASAP

Wooot got my engine today just waiting on someone response from this dead thread about my questions. Here are some rough pictures, they were taken by my crappy phone so sorry in advance.

We just did a 6bolt on my buddies 2g not too long ago, and he did a 2.3 stroker. I would say

Clutch: ACT 2900 6 puck, with a fidanza flywheel

Injectors: my buddy ran 750cc with a pte 50 trim, you would probably be safe running a set of 850cc injectors. I'm assuming at this point ## running a 255 walbro with FPR and a rewire kit right? if not now is the time to do it

turbo: GT35R all the way!

Yeah i've got a 255 walbro and the AEM FPR(not installed) looking to buy that rewire kit. Thanks on advice finally i get some LOL. GT35R is looking good ive been doing alot of reading on it but im leaning more towards the FP3065 at the moment because of the better reviews ive been reading on it. Thanks again

Yea, I mean both turbos are great turbos. I personally run a Forced Performance brand turbo on my eclipse and i have no issues with it what so ever. But also please don't forget not to use the ACT throw out bearing, get a mitsu oem throw out bearing.

Also, you do have DSM link or some type of tuning device do you? If not, you will to tune that thing. From what I've heard AEM EMS is the way to go, ### my buddy is currently having idle issues with his 2.3 setup with dsmlink.

Good luck, have fun and keep us posted!! :thumb::thumb:

Honestly i am ordering the DSMLINK this month. I currently have a safc in my car , i want the DSMLINK because my goal is to self tune my car to the highest point possible. I am new tuning so yeah it will be a task but im willing to try. DSMLINK vs AEM EMS LOL how many forums have i read in regards to this. I think it all boils down to what you want in the end. Thanks alot for the info man you've been a great help. I didnt know about the TO bearing thing :coy:

ARP studs arent going to be good enough if youre going for over 500HP. Ive heard about a lot of guys heads lifting. Also if you go with the GT35R youll have to get a T3 exhaust mani and O2 housing.

I would start by getting rid of the cyclone intake personally I think its a waste of time unless you get it to work properly which I did on my old 1g.

Go with 850cc FIC injectors and you will have more than enough fuel, just make you get dsmlink it will also help eliminate the misfire associated with 6 bolt swaps, and I would go with the FP turbo.

This i didn't know and have never heard of!

I wish i mad enough horsepower for my head to lift off the block :D

LOL i hope i don't get that much HP.ROFL

My 6 bolt swap is being completed today. I had a few major set backs. I ended up going with the ACT2900 with street disc+ Flywheel and i stayed with my Greddy 18G for the time being. I also stayed with my Denso 720cc Injectors for the time being, but did some other upgrades such as SMIM+75mm TB ETC!! . I will upgrade the turbo later. Wish me luck on the swap i hope to have my car back on the road 2day! I think i may put 1k Miles for my break in before i start turning up the boost. Or maybe more than 1k just to be sure!

My DSMLINK does not arrive till next week do you guys think the SAFC2 will suffice (timing etc) my needs until then.

Not if you're running 720cc injectors. The S-AFC tops out at 660cc or so. And I can't imagine even attempting to tune that setup without a logger. I would just wait until you get DSMlink as it would be much less hassle.

Also, if you still don't have a rewire kit, check out eBay as they're pretty cheap there.
