So the other weekend i swapped out my evo 3 16g and installed my bullseye 50 trim. When i had the evo 3 on the car it ran okay for not being tuned as well as it could have. My car has every supporting mod i can think of, and i just installed brand new NGK BKR7 plugs gapped at .032. For some reason the car just feels like a terd, i mean ill bet a stock minivan will beat me. When i would boost the car would sputter sometimes and seem to break up a little. My guess would be the plug wires, but has anyone had a similar expierience? I mean if my wires are bad is there any way of checking them? And if they are bad does my diagnosis seem accurate?

My Bullseye V trim really opened up after cams and switching to a complete 3" Turboback .
(but it screamed like banshee before that too)

Oh..boostleak +2 :thumb:

Oh, i use Hairspray on my silicone couplers (on the inside..duh)before tighning them down.. they will never ever slip off

I always have to take off the complete upper or lower piping..very few joints mean less leaks (or chances of something developing a leak)

1. Obviously you need to perform a boost leak test if it's not already done after the turbo swap.

2. You said NGK BKR7 plugs at .032", you need BPR7ES (if you're boosting over 17psi) at .028".

im oly making around 15psi, i mean i understand i still ned to do some head work and get a good tune, it just does not feel right. I am going to change the wires anyway just because mine are stock old and tired and i will do a boostleak test. Any more feedback would be great.

okay guys thanks, like i said i am going to perform a boost leak test, fix the gap and get some new wires, for some reason im convinced that the wires are not one hundred percent perfect, will be back asap for some feedback.

Just use an ohmmeter to test the plug wires if you're unsure. $20 will get you a workable digital meter, and will be REALLY useful if you work on your own car. It's funny... my mechanic said that I needed to replace my plug wires, until I pulled out my meter and tested them in front of him. They're the original ones that came with the car (three engines later), and tested out perfect.

Sounds like a boost leak test is needed... and DEFINITELY switch out those plugs for BPR7ES gapped (properly) at .028... used a set of Bosch plugs once myself, for about... a day. Stumbling, stuttering, all kinds of crap, with the 'proper' Bosch equivalent-replacement. The wrong plugs will screw you over hard.

Ok thanks, so when you fixed your plugs and everything else you noticed the car pulling like it should? i mean i have alot of work done to dit and i have done everything myself and i try no to not half do anything.

Well, it got rid of the misfiring and crap.
Might want to update your profile if you have more than is listed there... aside from that, any modified car putting out a good amount of power is going to require work... meaning funding the college education of a mechanic's kid, or doing the work yourself. It's a lot easier and less hassle to just do the latter (or learn how).
