So basically I wanna be able run both my stock and aftermarket gauges together. I dont want to unscrew another allen screw from the filter housing so I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find sorta like a T-fitting to run both off the stock location.

My aftermarket sender is 1/8 NPT and I read somewhere that the stock sender is 1/8 BPT. Also read that 1/8 NPT aftermarket senders only screw in a couple threads in the stock location because of the NPT/BPT difference.

So I guess the T fitting would need to be one end male 1/8 BPT, another end female 1/8 BPT for the stock sender and the other end female 1/8 NPT for the aftermarket sender.

My aftermarket sender is 1/8 NPT and I read somewhere that the stock sender is 1/8 NBT. Also read that 1/8 NPT aftermarket senders only screw in a couple threads in the stock location because of the NPT/NBT difference.

 WHY?

The purpose of getting an aftermarket oil pressure gauge is because the stock one is not very accurate. Yes, it will tell you when you lose oil pressure, just like an aftermarket one does, but if you are anal about what PSI your oil pressure is at, the stock oil pressure gauge won't help you. Just replace the stock sender with the aftermarket one. If you have an autometer sender, you may want to remote mount it to prevent it from failing due to engine vibrations.

If you still want to do it, this or something similar is what you'll need. http://store.summitracing.com/partd...849621+4294906706+4294906672+115&autoview=sku

Why are you so confused? You've never heard of people using both gauges? Come on man, Im sure you have.

That T-fitting looks like the specs are 1/8 NPT all around on both the female and male parts. I read that it wont screw in completely into the stock location on the filter housing.

It's as common as some one running two aftermarket oil pressure gauges. Except at least that way you have TWO accurate gauges instead of one accurate and one stock unaccurate gauge.

Sheesh, to each their own. I have the autometer guage T'd with the stock one Because that's how I like it. Didn't want a dead guage on my cluster, useless or not. Make sure you remote mount that autometer sending unit if you haven't already. They like to fail due to vibrations from the motor. The instructions will tell you as well as searchin the forum you'll find plenty of people who've had problems. Summit Racing has the kit to do it (stainless kit very similiar to the RRE Oil line for 16G....Hmmmm..)Just call em and they'll point you in the right direction. Anyways..good luck:D

Yeah, Im trying to avoid having a dead gauge in my cluster but I can't find this T-fitting. All the T-fittings I found have have 1/8 NPT all around. I need something with the male end 1/8 BPT and one of the female ends 1/8 BPT and the other end 1/8 NPT for the aftermarket sender..

The closest thing I found was just an adapter from Autometer but only if I was replacing the stock sending unit entirely. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/itemproduct_10001_12052_142802_-1_749158_11901

I'm not too worried about vibrations, it seems like the problem is 50/50. Dont have time to do any type of remote mounting or the money for extra parts.

Yes, I've heard of people having both gauges but it is not common since one is accurate and the other one is inaccurate. People swap out the stock sender for an aftermarket one when they get an aftermarket gauge. Do you honestly think that you are going to be looking at your stock gauge after you get an aftermarket one that has PSI readings on it? But it is your car, do what you please.

NPT 1/8", Outer diameter 0.405", Threads per inch 27
BPT 1/8", Outer diameter 10.02mm (0.394"), Threads per inch 28

You can try to make the NPT fit in the BPT and it doesn't have to screw all the way in. If you just want to do it right and get a BPT fitting, here is the only thing that I could find. 1/8BSP Male, 1/8BSP Female, two 1/8NPT Female Outlets

Just put a plug in one of the female 1/8 NPT ports and you can make it work.

FYI - The actual term is British standard pipe thread. BPT and BSP are the same thing. (BPT = British Pipe Thread, BSP = British Standard pipe).

As for remote mount, here is a kit for $25 (or you can make your own with one fitting and a hose) incase you change your mind. http://www.egauges.com/vdo_acce.asp?Subgroup=Remote_Pressure&Manf=All

I hope this helps and good luck with your project.

Very good post DGajre777. Yeah I understand pipe thread terminology which is exactly why I knew what I was looking for and you're the only person that seemed to understand exactly. Thanks for the links man, I've been searching all over online and locally and couldn't find anything. I'll make a decision between the two since the remote mount kit is so cheap also. Thanks again.

You are welcome! Glad to be of help.
