What differences are in the 4bolt rear end, (besides axles) that make it better then the 3bolt. I have a 3bolt and am thinking of just upgrading intermediate shafts in the axles.

well one of the obvious reasons is 4 bolts instead of 3 connecting the driveshaft to the diff...more fasteners = more surface area to distribrute the shear stresses caused by nasty launches and what not.

There is actually 4 bolts that hold the axle to the axle cups, instead of 3. Hence the name.

The shafts are a little thicker.

The inside flange is thicker too.

Look out for lsd's and non lsd's. I don't know if they made a non lsd 4 bt.

supposidly on all data it shows that there was a 4 bolt non lsd, but from my knowledge I have yet to run into a non lsd 4 bolt.
