Just switch for a 60-1 to a Holset HX-40 and a variable boost controller, but there is no boost what so ever. Tried switching back to normal mbc still won't boost. Could it possibly be my wastegate is bad?

I would start by conducting a boost leak test. Also I am guessing you have an internal wastegate. if so ,the flapper most likely is not properly shut. You will have to disconnect the wastgate actuator arm that connects to the turbo, shut the flapper and reconnect the arm. Also put some more tension in the arm so the flapper stays sealed when boosting. There is not likely a C clip or just a clip holding the arm to the turbo so just take that of and the arm comes free.
