Help wont go into Gear!!

I just bought my 91 Tsi that has a some kinda clutch issue! it is all wheel drive and I have not had the fun if driving it yet! the slave cylinder is just find the thing I noticed is the tranny is moving away with the slave cylinder so I was thinking it might be that! I was told my pressure plate is stiff thats why it was doing that but I was thinking the tranny is loose!

Are you saying the shifter won't go into gear? Or you can put the shifter into gear but when you try to let the clutch out it grinds? Any chance it is a bushing?

what it does is when its started the shifter will grind attempting to put it in gear! it wont go in for shit!

Dude, you really need to work on grammar.

About your transmission, check the slave and master cylinder. If that's not it then probably your transmission need new synchros.

I hope not! about the syncro's I have never opened up a tranny! the slave cylinder is fine and the master cylinder! I noticed the tranny is moving out also!

Hmmm, If you put in the clutch can you get the shifter to move through the gears? If not it could also be bent shift forks.

Can you force it while it grinds or does it just straight grind? Like a flint said it's probably a bent or broken fork if you can confirm that the clutch hydralic circuit is ok.

Are you saying the tranny is moving away from the block when you push the clutch pedal? If so, check to see if the belhousing bolts are loose or missing. Otherwise, you might have a cracked bellhousing. If it has been driven like that for a while, the syncros are probably trashed.

not the problem just came up according to the seller! know I have not really really tried forcing it into gear because that is not gonna help the fact it's not doing what it should be! thing is it will grind only attempting 1st, the others it wont go but it wont go into them either! I cant start the car in gear and take off but it was a one time thing in the drive way!
