Car is a 94 Talon DL

A little background: I was driving down the highway going 55 and passed a few cars and the car shifted perfectly fine. I got up to a stop light and my car would no longer go into gear. I got it out but when i went to put it in it would not go into ANY gear. I finally slammed it into gear and parked it. turned the car off as soon as i got close to a spot. I went to start the car again and the car wont start due to the clutch not engaging(letting it outta gear) it wants to hop on me. So i started it with it in nuetral and then tried to get it in gear and still nothing.

The pedal is a little stiffer than it was before it started messing up. does anyone have any ideas? Master cylinder? Slave cylinder? clutch assembly?

Check for a bent master cylinder rod. That would prevent the clutch from fully disengaging, while making making the pedal feel stiffe

where is the master cylinder rod? i dont think the slave cylinder is bent atleast i cant tell. how would they get bent?

by disengaging do you mean allowing u to get outta gear?

i should also add that when i push in the clutch there is a SUPER slight grinding/rubbing noise coming from the firewall area when i push the clutch in when the cars off.

#2 above is what I am talking about. This could make a grinding noise.

When you press the clutch pedal toward the floor, you are disengaging the clutch.

A pedal that is horribly out of adjustment may cause it to bend if the clutch master cylinder's piston reached the end of it's travel before the pedal did while using it heavily. Hopefully that is your problem, otherwise, pretty much anything that would interfere with the disengagement of the clutch may cause that to occur.

You can remove the clutch master by removing the push rod clevis pin from the pedal assembly, disconnecting the hydraulic line, then unbolting the clutch master cylinder. If I recall correctly, that is all there is to it.

Sorry to ask in this post, but is the push rod supposed to be able of being push with my own fingers? I have that problem, that I can push it with one finger all the way in, is it supposed to be like that? I replaced the master cilinder w/ rod and the upper clutch pump (the one with the fluid)

With it plumbed in, filled and bled, there is about no way you should be able to push it in by hand. With it not plumbed in, you will be able to press it in by hand.

what do you mean by "plumbed in"? I had both clutch pumps installed, bled, and everything(about a couple months ago), but since I put a clutch about 2 years ago, I could always push it in. What do I need to do to fix this?? I'm getting a new clutch + synchros and would like all clutch issues to be ok. Thanks for your help!!

Sorry for not understanding, my first language is spanish, and that mechanical meaning is hard for me to assimilate.
