i tried searching the forums for an answer but couldnt find it...i am about to install the evo3 16g with the evo3 manifold and the o2 housingm but i was told that i need to drain all the fluids out of the car before i start the project, like the oil and the antifreeze. i can understand the oil but do i have to dump the antifreeze as well. the other question i had was should i use some kind of bonding creme on the exhaust manifold's gaskest when i install the new gasket and the new manifold? thanks for the help guys

You don't have to drain either fluids if you don't want, but the turbo you have and the one you're installing use both. By draining you simplify your work because otherwise you're going to want to be careful and drain the turbo on its own. Chances are some fluid will sit inside it and when you rotate it around it will come out. Up to you really how you want to handle it.

As for the exhaust manifold gasket, you do not need anything on it.

If you are unsure of the flatness of either your head or manifold then RTV copper the gasket if you want to.

You also don't HAVE to drain the coolant--you can pinch the coolant lines off with something, however it's not too hard to drain it and put more coolant in.

Please use proper caps and punctuation in the tech sections.

In all honesty just drain all of the fluids. It will make the install so much easier, and anytime you swap your turbo i believe you should change all fluids so that they are fresh. It limits your room for error. Just my input.
