Hey, I've done some searching throughout the low oil pressure threads, but did not come up for an exact answer to my problem. I have a 1996 Eagle Talon Tsi Awd with and FP Green Turbo. Now I checked my oil today and I'm down about halfway in between the marks (so about half a quart of oil I believe). I have a small leak from my oil return line. Now my stock oil pressure gauge only reads a little about the "L" line at warm idle and about 25% at about 3-4k rpms. It doesn't want to seem to rise. Is this because of the leak, the loss of oil, a bad gauge (hook up or sensor), or could it be a more serious problem. I have an aftermarket oil pressure gauge, but it is not hooked up yet.

My 93 w/177k miles reads a little above the L, about almost half way to the first mark at idle. At 3k it goes up to about midway of the picture of the oil can.

As I understand from what I've read, these cars have low oil pressure at idle.

Stick that oil press. guage you have on it to know for sure.

Ya, all the 1g's I've ever owned read low oil pressure at idle, but went up to normal during driving. As far as I'm aware, thats how they all are...so I'd imagine the 2g is the same way...I'd definitely get that gauge hooked up to be on the safe side though.
