I was looking over the tech articles and noticed the port and polish on the intake manifold and exhaust manifold. I plan on porting them out, but does it really add any horsepower? I was thinking about just getting an aftermarket intake manifold and exhaust manifold but trying to save up aswell. Any ideas?

Looking at your profile, assuming it is up-to-date, I would say a few other mods would be more pertinent than an aftermarket intake and exhaust manifold. Not saying that you should never buy them, but a o2 housing, downpipe, fuel upgrades and tuning/logging abilities are great upgrades and would set you up nicely for the big future upgrades like larger turbochargers and SMIM and tubular exhaust manifolds etc.

As for a port and polish, porting your current 2g exhaust manifold exit and T25 tubine inlet to match a 7cm gasket and porting the o2 housing are great ideas. Does it add horsepower? Yes, I definitely think so. Check this thread out and see what others have to say about the topic:

if its done right then yes it will add power. theres more too it than just maximum flow though, you also have to figure in velocity as well. it all depends on who you talk to about it, some people will just say make it as big as possible, some say just gasket match, some say make the ports smaller.... check out this link for more on that. http://www.mototuneusa.com/think_fast.htm

oh i'm definately not any kind of expert on this stuff.
