as the title says.. I want to put a set of 2g rods/pistons in a 1ga motor. .. obviously this is not for performance reasons, the idea here is cheap. My brother bought a 1ga car 6 bolt and a blown engine... i tore it apart to find that the person that had the car had the intake cam timed wrong and the valves were slapping the pistons which eventually led to one of the valves snapping and busting a hole in the piston. Miraculously the block wasnt destroyed ...now I have an extra set of 2g pistons and rods from my eclipse so I told him he can have them and am going to put them in next weekend.i used the search button and when others asked the question everyone said use the 1ga rods and machine them to fit the piston, but that is not what i want to do.. my brother is looking for a stock car not a 500 hp car sooo... im just trying to verify that the 2g pistons/rods combo on the 1g crank will work without a hitch...

Thanks in advance ...

Ricky

No, nor would it be smart if you did, NO offense at all I get where you're going, Get another set of 1g rods and have them milled to fit the 2g pistons IF the pistons are in good condition, The 1g rods are thicker and stronger then then the 2g rods, Don't take the cheap way out especially on something like this, You can get a used set of 1g rods Very cheap.

the width is diffrent for the bearing area there for it will not work thats why people do 2g piston 1g big rod combo its the only way to put 2g pistons in a 6 bolt

ya i already have another set of 1ga big rods also that are ok ... so he will have to pay the maachine shop and get them milled... or find a set of good 1g turbo pistons o well i'll see what we come up with than .. thanks agian...
