montreal,
ok so i just installed my wideband and i wanted to know something,on idle its reading 10.7, on full throttle 11.2 sometimes 10.8, and on cruising its on 12.3, so are those numbers good or bad, aslo lets say when im accelerating is it supposed to stay at one number???

^^I believe so, our ecu's have what's called "rolling" fuel cut where if the rpm's are over a certain point and the tps reads 0% the ecu cuts fuel... i would imagine that's what's causing you to peg lean.

someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Running that is really not safe you will be fouling plugs all the time and you could wash out your piston rings also. I would recomend you buy some type of fuel controller and a data logger. You need to be able to control your a/f mixture. Hope that helps a little.

i just went for a drive and at full throttle it was reading 10.0 i know thats no good anyone got any clue why its so rich?

Because you're not controlling your fuel with anything. If you've got larger injectors and a larger fuel pump you will run rich because your ecu doesn't compensate for larger injectors or higher flowing fuel pumps. You will continue to run rich until you get something to control those injectors a little better.

Something is causing your ecu to think there is more air going into the engine than their actually is.

I would reset the ECU by pulling the battery and pulling the "yellow" twin fuse in the under hood fuse box for @ least 10 minutes..(to be sure). This will reset the ecu. you then need to check to make sure your maf is clean and 100% working. (I happen to have an extra PM me if you want it)

Check for boost leaks and check your plugs.

That'll be a good start. Try that out and let us know how that goes.

Your ECU is seeing more than stock airflow. This will automatically enrich the mixture to protect itself. Each car is different so it's hard to say.

OFF TOPIC EXAMPLE:
I tune with DSMLink - and I have fuel pretty much pulled across the board, however between 2500-3500 I have to enrich for some reason. Idle 15.0, cruise 14.7-15.0, decel is Lean, and WOT is 11.15 to 1. 22Psi.

On Topic:
I would look into getting a AFC or DSMLINK or something that you can control your fuel with. I don't know why you're running so rich - something isn't right. What's your gas mileage like?

Maybe the wide band is reading wrong? it could be a number of things....

im gonna do a boost leak test maybe on thursday hopefully its a boost leak cz i dont know what to look for next

what kind of wideband are you using? I know that with innovate widebands you have to do open air calibrations in order for the gauge to read correctly. Also where did you place the sensor in your exhaust system, that will sometimes have odd effects as well.

You're not running too rich at all @WOT from the stock point of view, stock fuel map is at about 9.5:1. Idle and part throttle however is a different story, I suspect you're not getting into close loop due to either faulty O2 or coolant sensor readings. This is why a logger is as important, if not more so, as a WB.

BTW Peter, please use proper grammar, caps and punctuation when posting in the tech sections.

You will be running rich with just the intake and exhaust upgrades you have made, so now it's time to invest in something to enable you to lean out your fuel settings.

No, an exhaust will make him run slightly lean like he said.

its the aem wideband and the sensor is on the downpipe

could it be the front o2 or the back one?
