okay so about a week ago i blew a coupler apart on my diy front mount while driveing and the car never tried to cut off so i drove it home. but on my way home it was up and down hill. and goin up hill i could hear the turbo roaring from the coupler that blew apart. i was just wondering if this could have messed up my turbo. maybe overspinning the turbo?:talon: :beatentodeath:

Yeah, it was probably over spinning. No, you probably didn't break it. I've heard of people destroying their turbo's in one glorious moment of pedal to the floor while going up hill stupidity, but I've personally never done it.

Fix it and find out.

i have fixed it now the turbo kinda feels slugish. and it feels like differrent power bands kick in threw the rpm. like say at 3000rpm then at 5000 then solid to redline. its quite a mystery to me.:beatentodeath:

Were you familiar with the way the FMIC felt in a full on pull before the coupler blew off? That sounds more like big front mount with small turbo syndrome to me since you are on the T25 still. Anyways, whatever it is, it's a real good excuse to get rid of the T25 :D

it was kinda sluggish but it feels worse now. and the overkill on the front mount could be the possibility but idk. sounds likes its time to go to evo3 16g and blow through setup.:D

My T25 was driven hundreds of miles on a blown coupler to no apparent ill effect; up hills, down hills and often struggling to maintain highway speed. It was still going strong when I replaced it

+1 for the boost leak test.. you prbably dont have the hose sealing right.. I highly doubt you overspun your turbo... do a boost leak test and that will tell you....

most likely tighten... but experiment.. you wont break anything... whatever works to get the flutter to stop without stopping the function of the BOV altogether.. thats why they are adjustable...

it effs up spool time, cause the car to stutter if bad enough, etc... It can cause a myriad of problems, so its best just to not have it like that... flutter is always bad... plus, you need to adjust it for higher boost pressures because it wont function the same at higher psi

no.. dont do it all the way in.. just adjust in and out from where you are untill it goes away... it will take some time, but its easy to do... if the BOV is in all the way, it wont open, and you will get a surge of boost pressure going back through your turbo.. thats what a BOV is for... just mess with it untill it goes away.. thats the easiest way to do it.. grab a couple wrenches and the keys and try it...

Yes. You probably wouldn't even need to go all the way in. Just start from where it is now if it is fluttering. Is it doing it all the time or just at partial boost. Say like driving down the road you live on and just starting to spin the turbo? You want to loosen it to eliminate the flutter. The stiffer settings are for higher boost. Just play areoun a little with it. It took me nearly an hour to get mine right... and it was already kinda set by the person that owned it before me... Just way to tight.

it flutters at partial throttle and full boost. and it feels lke the car drops really hard during shifts. if that makes since.

I would do a boost leak first before you start adjusting other parts of the car. No reason in changing something unless you know the problem.

After you do a boost leak test... and fix all leaks found if there are any just play around with it a little. If it still stutters loosen it up a touch and go for another quick run. Make sure it's not doing so at all, but is still holding boost all the way up to redline. That flutter is the bossted air that can't escape from the blow off valve when the throttle plate shuts hitting the turbo again. It will cause wear on the turbo and can eventually destroy one. Then again that would make for a good reason to upgrade if it was to get destroyed. ;)

Got a boost leak test done had some leaks at the Tb, and bov. i changed my hks bov back to the 1g bov. and i fixed the boost leaks now its fine.
