montreal,
ok i got 2 questions
1-how do u know witch wastegate to go with a 38mm or a 44mm ill be running a t3 t4 50 trim turbo?
2-do i get camshafts and camgears b4 the turbo upgrade or after and do i need to change my camgears when i get camshafts?
thnx allot

what turbo do you have now? I'd say go with the 38mm w/g unless your planning on running really low boost (under 15). as for the cam gears, get them when you get your cams if you have the money. how much power are you trying to make?

1. I've never heard of anyone complaining that their waste gate is too big. 44mm is probably overkill, but you're not likely to ever outgrow it.

2. You can do it before or after. You might want to wait until after to see if you like the way it changes your performance curve. Bigger cams will bump your power and torque profiles further up in the rev range, which you might not like.

You don't need new cam gears. Adjustable cam gears are good for dialing camshafts though. For some brands of camshafts you do need to do something to the intake cam to stick the 2G CAS on it. Ask what you need to do when you buy them.

right now i have t25 ill be getting a 50 trim probably next summer im looking at around 350 whp i dont want more because im on a stock motor

i would wait to do the wastegate because you need to weld the flapper shut on the turbo to run an external gate. as far as cams go you might want to check into upgrading your head internal depind on what cams your going to go with

you can make 350whp with an evo 3 16g. It will spool faster then a 50 trim and you don't really need cams if that is truely the hp level you want, although a nice set of 264's would be a great addition. In my personal opinion a 50 trim is a little over kill for what you are trying to accomplish, but others might disagree. I don't know what altitude your at either so an evo 3 16g might no flow enough air for you to hit your HP goal if your altitude is like 6000 ft. or something.

Big wg's tend to bleed pressure at higher boost levels. They are great for low boost applications. Smaller wastegates will hold better at high boost but doesnt bypass enough exhaust at low boost to prevent spikes.

I saygo with a 38 if you plan to run over 12psi on a daily basis. As for cam gears, wait for cams. When you do cams, the intake cam has to be drilled and tapped for the 2gb cas. Cams can be saved for after the turbo. You will see little if any difference with cams and a t-25.

thanks alot guys for all the info now i got an idea to what im gonna be buying next so ill wait for the cams a bit

Well, i assume that your have a stock 7 bolt motor, so.... If your just shootin for 350hp, a 50trim with supporting fuel mods will get you there and a lil more. And you wouldnt have to worry about cams. If you went with an EVO 3 16g, with supporting fuel mods, port the turbine housing and add a 34mm Wastegate flapper, just in case you spike or creep. The EVO 3 16g will spool faster and get you to 350hp. And with a set of cams(264in/272ex), the torque in the higher rpms will put a smile on your face!
