im thinking about getting a sound system, idk anything about brands and stuff like that, so whats the best for the money, im not looking to spend alot i guess $300ish at most, also the kid that had the car before me had neons, is this gonna create electrical issues, or kill my battery or anything, I dont even use the neons tho unless i feel like theres something stuck under my car, should i buy one of those small fire extinguishers? ..

Well, what aer you looking to put in your car? Just a head unit? Head unit and speakers all around? All of that plus subs?

also the kid that had the car before me had neons, is this gonna create electrical issues, or kill my battery or anything, I dont even use the neons tho unless i feel like theres something stuck under my car

I might create electrical issues but if you don't use them, why not just get rid of them? You would have to look and see where he tapped into for power to know if you're going to have issues when installing the rest of the system. I don't think they draw that much power though to drain your battery, especially if you don't use them. But if I were you, I'd just pull them. Lighter car, lighter car :thumb:

should i buy one of those small fire extinguishers? ..

:toobad: Only if you want be seen as a ricer...

what im looking for my car.. uhm just a good sound system, that will be loud, get people to look, feel the thump, cause when i have girls in my car, they usually blast my radio, then its kinda embrassing to have someone behind you playing there stuff thats much louder than yours, something not too big, cause i do sometimes have to put boxes and stuff in my trunk and not drain my battery, i know my buddy spent 500bucks on his system and he eventually had to buy this thing that gives your car more battery power(idk what its called but he paid $150, then extra 50 for installation at best buy) or something cause his system was draining the battery, according to his gauges.

yea i want to take the neons out tho, just not my style, the side ones are okay, cause they're hidden, and incase if i ever have to look under my car at night, i see clearly, but the ones near the front and back bumper i want to take out, i just dont know how and i dont want to pay someone idk $50? 100? to take them out.

i spent a little over $600 including installation at Best Buy for 2 Sony 12" Xplod 1200w subs, a Kenwood 1000w amp, Pioneer head unit, and wiring. I do need a capacitor, which is what i think you mentioned that your friend has. Thats what causes the lights dimming, the amp draws 2 much from the alternator. I havnt done any damage yet, and i have had it up full blast. hope that helps some.......

Just a bit of advise you can go cheap and yes it will work for awhile. But for amps if suggest rockford there one of the best amps out there. Granted there not cheap but you pay for what you get. Just look around on ebay and see what you can find. Also on that note its always better to over power your subs than under power them. Look at http://www.crutchfield.com/ some times you can get good package deals. The way I looked at it before I bout my RF 1051s power amp is that I could spend couple hundred now then have to spend couple hundred more later when it took a dump.

I have green neons under my car as well. You shouldn't have any electrical issues if you stay basic and don't go real big. i have a small system in my car and it runs fine with my neons. Heck, i left my neons on for like 7 hours once without the car running at a show and I still haven't had problems. If you get to worked up over it, just go buy a capacitor or an Altima battery.
