I was looking on ebay and the threads and I was looking for a wideband and I cant find anything for less than 270.00 do I have to have the guage? I have palm coming. hows the innovative setup? I really have no clue on this I just know I was told I should get one. Can I just get the sensor and call it a day or what?

***NOT A NAME BRAND FIEND!***

You can look around...I would sugest PLX seeing as to how they have the most features. If you already have a A/F gauge...PLX Devices has a 0-1 feed that alows you to hook it right up to that rather then welding on another bung. No you do not need to have the gauge either. You can just buy the box and use a palm.

Here is the controller without the gauge. http://www.plxdevices.com/products/sm/afr/

You can find widebands used in the classifieds here for less than 270, other than that I use a plx and no complaints. You can get a wideband without a guage as long as you have a means of logging it. Whether your palm can I don't know.

Thanks. I'm very newb to tuning. Sorry. I dont have an A/F gauge. But my palm will be here in a few days. I already have a boost and oil pressure on my pillar. and i dont want a stupid blinky light. whats the box in that link u sent me? does that go under hood? I have an SAFC as well.

That is a control box..it would most likey be hidden under the dash trip or something along those lines..then the censor would be run to go through the firewall ect. into the engine bay.

ok so i have an safc would i be able to use both? which would be better to use? what exactly is controlled on the box?

I'd have to say to go for the PLX-SM AFR w/DM-5 gauge combo. That's the one I'm running for about 8 months now and I love it. Got it for $259.99 from Extremepsi.com. I think I bought it during a sale but you can check their site.:thumb:

So, if I'm hearing you guys right and reading the PLX site correctly... You can buy the PLX box, connect it to the Bosch Wideband O2 sensor and install that into your OEM O2 housing bung. Then when you hook up your Palm with Pocketlogger on it, your Palm will read the wideband O2 reading via the diagnostic port?

Is there something I'm missing??

Do you need to keep the OEM O2 sensor and install the wideband sensor somewhere else?

Can I connect the PLX device to my useless AutoMeter A/F gauge??

^^I have been wondering the same thing myself... except I have an LC-1. I want to log with my pocket logger. I know ideally you want to get a new bung welded. The question I have is, if the wb signal is 0v-5v and the nb signal is 0v-1v (I may have those switched around), where does the wideband signal fit into being able to log via the aldl port?

Looks like a wideband isn't in your future then. Even just the box and bosch wideband o2 sensor that it uses is about $200, give or take a few bucks. You'll also need a gauge unless you know how to wire it to your logger harness, so your logger can read wideband as long as the program supports it.

If you are using pocketlogger version 2.03b (newest update) for 1g only, and the PLX. You can wire the 0-5v linear output to an unused input on the ecu (pin 15 which was only used on CA only for a EGR temp). The logger reads that input as WBo2 now instead of EGR temp. With the 0-1v output you can emulate your stock NBo2 by wiring that output on the PLX to the stock o2 input on the ecu, and wire a resistor to loop the o2 heater wires. That makes the ecu happy (no CEL). The only problem i know about with this is that if you are running below around 11.03 you have to mod the ecu to bypass the curcuit you are borrowing. Hope this is helpful. Instructions for 0-5v is on pocketloggers website, and instructions for the 0-1v is on the PLX website.

I would suggest the innovate lc-1 with xd-1 gauge. Reason is: easy to use, most accurate according to the wideband shoot out(search). I have had mine for 3 years with no problems. I use it with ds-map and it rocks. Also you can program the outputs for what ever voltages you want. I have not been hindered by this equipment at all.
