bov and mbc set-up

Ok so awhile back i noticed that my MBC was hooked up wrong.... changed everything to the right way and took it out for a drive. Boost spike to past 20 PSI and my waste gate got stuck shut. got the waste gate to move again. A month later my ecu took a shit. so i bought a new one. Come to find out that my old ECU was for a NON-TURBO. Could this be the reason why my wastegate didnt open after changing the MBC hook-ups??? Also (a little off topic) could this help me pass emissions? Thanks in advance.....

A mbc is just that. Manual boost controller, not "still computer controlled boost controller"

it has nothing to do with the ecm.

The wastegate is not controlled by your ECU. It is controlled by amount of boost it sees. If it got stuck shut, then you obviously have a problem with the physical wastegate flapper. On a stock wastegate, it should open anywhere between 10 and 12psi.

Not that I know of, but I'm not sure. Since you have a pre-'95, all you have to deal with is the physical tests, not the OBD tests, so the computer shouldn't have any play in this.
