so heres the story, i got a good deal on a turbo back 3inch exhaust and it came with a custom built o2 housing. It is huge. will this larger o2 housing help control boost creep??? should i enlarge the wastegate opening as well?? this is all for my 14b incase anyone was wondering.

thanks

From your profile it looks as if everything is stock. If that is the case, I had a 3in turbo back on a 14b turbo set at 16psi and it creeped at about 5500rpms all the way to redline. Boost creep is caused because the path of least resistance for exhaust gas to travel is down into the turbine by passing the wastegate. If you search the forums you can find some solutions to this problem, but the most obvious would be to get a bigger wastegate, either by porting/upgrading your 14b size, or moving to an external WG. However if you plan on getting a different turbo later, now would be a good time to make some decisions. If you don't have an upgrade path in mind, then I would start there, nothing worse than buying things you can't use later.

Boost creep has little to do with your O2 housing flow capacity, depending on the degree of creep, a larger O2 or O2 dump ALONE will do little for boost creep, what has proven to work consistently is proper porting of the poorly designed turbine housing.

BTW check your shift key, doesn't seem like it's working. ;)

Port the turbine housing to prevent boost creep, like everyone else said the 3" down pipe amd o2 housing will just make boot creep worse.
