I've got two questions concerning a 1G clutch.
1 - Does anyone know what pressure a stock (read: original, never-replaced) clutch is rated at on a 1G clutch? I've done a little digging without finding what I'm looking for.
2 - I'm looking for reccomendations on a clutch to replace my stock one with. My primary reason for asking question #1 is so that I can (try to) guage how much heavier an aftermarket clutch would be to operate. So, I'll ask it - What should I be looking for?
I daily-drive my Talon to the tune of 250-300 miles a week, sometimes more. I do alot of slow speed and stop-and-go traffic, so pedal effort will be fairly important. However, I've recently gotten into Autocross, so a clutch that performs well is also a must. A half dozen 4K launches every couple weeks is to be expected. It's not like I have chicken legs or anything - I can handle a bit heavier than stock - but within reason.
A bit about the car: 1992 Talon TSi AWD. Unmodified engine and drivetrain, and I'm planning on having a shop change the clutch - Too big a job for me to do in one weekend on my only car.
I've been considering an ACT 2100 kit - Could someone give me an idea of how this compares to stock? Should I go for a Full Faceplate friction surface, or a 6/4 puck layout? Or, if you feel I'm looking at the wrong thing, point me in the right direction!
Many thanks in advance!
