Hey guys, O recently broke my clutch fork because I have an ACT clutch thats rated 500hp+ and my car is only putting down 150hp(stock) to the wheels.

I found a clutchmasters OE replacement clutch part number#: 05-048-HD00 on my local craigslist.com for 200 bucks and was wondering to those who have them in their cars now or previously if it treated them good.

I am not a racer, I just like 2g's for daily driving and the occasional touge/mountain runs with 240sx's.

So how are these clutches because I don't hear about these a lot. I've only been around ACT, Fidanza and all the big mainstream names.
 
The question is why won't you go with whats already proven with DSMs? ACT. If you don't want the heaviness of the 2600, and since you said your not racing anyways, just get the 2100. I've have person daily driving experience with those on GS-Ts and pedal pressure compared to stock is not far off.

The ACT clutch you have has a 6 puck unsprung disc, and if thats with the 2600 pressure plate, that is no surprise to anybody here on why you brake shit. You hear that old saying from "street tuners" about puck clutches braking stuff. I always thought it was just a myth, but it does happen every so often.

Your car and the rest of your transmission was obviously not ready to handle that setup.

I would go with act2100 with street disc and you will be fine.

Of course I didn't say anything was wrong with the clutchmasters, but that is cause I have no personal experience, but that above act combo has been a success for many years, why change now.

But if you do decide to go for it, let us know. Hopefully you get the results you want this time.

The clutch I have is far from the 2600 and the pedal is at least 30 pounds to press on. And when did I ever have problems breaking my car? I only post to get some feedback review from other people. This is the first problem I had with this car so don't be a butthole and say I break shit. :notgood:

So what clutch do you have?
 
IMHO Clutch Masters is a mainstream company, even if they're not widely heard about in the DSM world. I would highly recommend them. I just don't trust ACT. I have heard one-too-many stories about them, so I will never deal with them. Clutch Masters offers a range of clutches, from Stage zero to Stage five. I think Stage one or two is a good compromise, even in your situation.
