This was my first turbo install and first time using a MBC. So, after the initial install, I was not able to control boooost at all. I could not go WOT at all! I always spiked 20+ when boost hit. At one point i hit 33psi
Adjusting the MBC several times did not do anything. My first thoughts were damn MBC is broken. I have the Hallman RX and thought of going with the heavier spring to see if it would do anything, but ended up doing the wisest thing. Check for boost leaks!
While checking for boost leak I noticed my intake was literally right on top of my wastegate nipple which pinched the hose. To resolve this issue I bent the the nipple slowly at about 30 degrees towards the fan. Bolted everything back up. Redialed the MBC all the way to stock setting and took it out for a spin.
I was able to hold 9 PSI wooohooo! Adjusted it again and now was able to hold approx 11 psi yess! Adjusted again this time at 13 PSI hit full boost at 3300 rpm in 3rd gear. Found a safe strip of road and launched it took it all the way to fourth and did not creep at all!!!
Boost control source is on the LICP and boost controller is right next to the coolant overflow bottle. I thought the long hoses might be another checkpoint issue, but was able to hold it perfectly.
Time to get fuel mods in!!!
Sorry for the long post, just happy to control boost.
Like everyone says, always check for boost leaks, make sure no hoses are pinched, triple check everything, check that wastegate nipple!!!

Search and understand what "boost creep" is before you start to throw her name around.
