My clutch fork snapped due to my harsh clutch..LOOK! and really LONG!

Story:
Hey guys..well first off, I have an ACT Extreme Duty Clutch Unsprung(if you don't know what clutch this is well, let me tell don't buy it if deliver pizza and drive your car for daily driving.) and my car is out of commission due to my clutch fork snapping in half. Let me explain how it came to this.

I was driving my car, dropped my girlfriend home and enjoying my new HKS SSQV. And as I get ready to pull in my drive way, I step on the clutch and hear a "clank!" At first, I think, "oh that must be my push rod to master cylinder bending again." because it bent before because of the clutch being so hard to depress.

I get out, check it out and seems straight, no bending. I looked puzzled and wonder what that "clank!" was. I investigate and noticed my clutch got really easy to press on and feels like a normal car. I take her around the block and I can drive it so easy now. Before I had to bury my heel into ground to release the clutch rather then having your foot "free float" to release the clutch.

Anyway, It drove like how it should. I thought my diaphragm fins on the pressure plate snapped off and that is why it's so easy to depress the clutch. So, I drive it home and check out the master cylinder and slave cylinder. My master cylinder was leaky inside the cabin of the car where the push rod was, so it ran out of brake fluid and put air in the system.

So, I am concluding that since the Master Cylinder leaked, and put air in the system, it somehow made the clutch fork weak and the "clank!" I heard was actually the fork bending or crack! Thus making the clutch so easy to step on.


So I have no car to drive anymore and I am just going to replace my clutch because it really is a challenge to drive it as a daily driver and over speed bumps. Also, my flywheel and all that jazz related to the clutch because I know my flywheel has taken a beating.





Question:
So, heres my question guys, I don't race, but I do like modding my car with little bells and whistles but I want it as a daily drive and occasional mountain driver, also I am a pizza deliverer; Should I just go with an OEM replacement clutch? I was looking at the OE EXEDY Replacement Clutch kit on EBAY: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EXED...005QQitemZ150159257846QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW


It is fairly cheap or should I go with the local parts store clutch kits such as LuK or whatever. I am not interested with the ACT 2100s or anything high end and the OE EXEDY clutch kit looks like it would suit me best.


And as for my clutch fork I wonder if they would sell after market clutch forks or if another OEM clutch fork would be fine?

Have you opened up the bell housing and seen this broken fork? What about the end that you can get to from out side the tranny; are you sure its the fork thats the problem?

The piece that mates with the slave cylinder rod snapped off. I took off the rubber dust cover underneath by the transmission and peeked in. I'll get pics later. When my brother was pumping the clutch, the damn thing snapped off in front of my face..My heart dropped!
 
I actually had the same thing happen to me. Act 2600 pressure plate. I just replaced the fork with a mitsu one and haven't had any problems since.
