OBD gauge problems- just says "initializing"

I been having problems with OBD gauge lately. It won't connect to the car and just says "initializing". any help?

Did you just download the software? You'll need the correct interface to get the readings.

sorry to bring this back from the dead but i have asked on here several times about obdgauge with no response. What interface or setting do i need to change to get the obdgauge to quit saying "initializing"?

Baud rate of 19200
adress 25
protocol 150

Did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in? Sometimes mine does that and it'll usually fix the problem.

i've tried it all. I have a cable from scantool.net so does it still need to be on multiplex? I tryed to unplug it and plug it back in but it still wouldn't stop "initializing". I tried to change every setting under the menu and got nothing, i didn't mess with the baud rate or anything (i wasn't too sure what they did) but i guess i can try that. I just really need to get my logger working. I also have palmnstein but it keeps telling me to register it at a website that doesnt exist. I am lost.

You don't need to register Palmstein. I didn't. When you get to that screen, just press one of the F buttons. I forgot which one is logger. It should take you there.

yea i hit the "f" button and it brings up a pop up thing that says "register at www.tunerstein.com" (which doesn't exist) and when i try to go past that it just shows a blank screen with "Palmnstein" at the top and none of the buttons will do anything but tell me to register again or tell me that i am not currently logging anything

I would really prefer to use obdgauge but whatever works i'm willing to use.

ok so i played around with the logger a little more today and i did get the palmnstein to go to a page that said something to the effect of "searching for parms" or something, then it just kind of stayed there for a long time. The obdgauge, despite me changing every parameter as well as unplugging it and plugging it back up still says "initializing" is there anything im supposed to do before i go into the logger program. Anything i do after hooking up the obdII cable? What am i doing wrong?

When i was having this problem awhile back, I erased everything from the palm; then just re-installed everything. It's been working correctly for about 5 months now but every now and then it freezes up. What I do is disconnect the cable from the palm, exit out of OBD gauge, then open OBD guage with the cable disconnected, then plug in the cable. It may take a second, but 99% of the time this works for me. Also, when you plug the cable back in, push it in firmly until it connects to the car. Good luck

my obdgauge preferences doenst have 150 as a setting.

i can only chose protocol from: ISO, VPW, PWM, KWP.

I cant get past the initialize.

EDIT. 150= ISO.

IT STILL DOESNT WORK THO

im using an ebay 409.1 odb2 cable
