another lifter? (not a tick ? )

picked up a 7 bolt out of a 98 eclipse today tore it down,well pulled the head off at least , just for the hell of it i pulled one of the rockers off and there be hole 3mm opening of the top of the lifter.. do these come stock in the 98ish dsms or did someone put these things in ? anyone have any clue or did i just get lucky?

my buddy has a 98gst and it came with the same lifters your talking about. i beleave that they do come with them.
