So I am in the proses of a rebuild and I am at the final stages. (6bolt awd Talon) One of the things I did was replace the timing belt. The original belt was a Mitsu. belt. I bought a mopar belt. When I started the car the timing belt would walk side to side about 1mm. I took the original belt and compared it to my new one. This is what I saw.
The taller belt as you can imagine is the original Mitsu belt.
At this point I put the original belt on and the walking decreased by the difference in the belts. So now it only walks about 1/4 of a mm. So the question is, is it ok to use the new mopar belt or should I keep my old one? (Belt still good, only replaced the belt since I was there) Advice appreciated.
