So I am in the proses of a rebuild and I am at the final stages. (6bolt awd Talon) One of the things I did was replace the timing belt. The original belt was a Mitsu. belt. I bought a mopar belt. When I started the car the timing belt would walk side to side about 1mm. I took the original belt and compared it to my new one. This is what I saw.

The taller belt as you can imagine is the original Mitsu belt.
At this point I put the original belt on and the walking decreased by the difference in the belts. So now it only walks about 1/4 of a mm. So the question is, is it ok to use the new mopar belt or should I keep my old one? (Belt still good, only replaced the belt since I was there) Advice appreciated.

If I were you, I would get one from the dealer. I never use any other kind of belt. For something like that, get the right part that is really made to last.

Still, the motor in your car is a mitsubishi, and did you tell the dealer it was for a 93? ### that won't fit a 6bolt properly.

He has a six bolt, not a seven bolt. Belts are not going to differ by years, they are going to differ by motors. Besides, from what I can tell, the OP bought the belt from a dealership, the dealership whom was selling Talons back in the day. They should be the same part, unless someone at the dealership managed to send or request the wrong part, it's happened to me several times.
