How do i rotate the cams? Do i just use the screw on the outside of the cam gears?

((I am in the middle of replacing my timing belt, thats why I am asking this question.))

ok so i did that, but now the dowel pin on the gear does not line up exactly where it needs to be on top. the exhaust cam is a little off to the left and the intake is a little off to the right.

You have to hold them in place with 2 wrenches while you put the belt over them.

Are you trying to rotate to TDC (top dead center) or are you trying to reposition the cam after it moved while doing the change?

To rotate to TDC, you want to rotate the main sprocket down near the bottom, which will turn the belt to get the cams in the correct position (make sure it's not in gear).

If you don't have a sensor that will tell you TDC, just take the spark plugs out and pop off the valve cover. Have a friend rotate the crankshaft sprocket using a wrench or ratchet until the piston closest to the passenger side is as high as it will go.

EDIT: Ok, I guess you're past that point. Sorry.
