need the help of people who have completed the 6 bolt swap

heres the deal.

i just picked up a 2g that had a 6 bolt in it. i just got the shell. i then went out and found a 6 bolt with 5 spd. i will be going to get this on tuesday. now my question is will the 1g tranny work or no? what do i have to do to make the 1g work? should i just get a 2g trans?
please give me your advice, i would like to get this car running asap.

you can put a 2g trans in a 1g but you cnt get a 1g inttot a 2g. The 2g has 3 mounts on the trans, the 1g has the mounts on the motor. Trying to put a 1g in you will have no where to bolt the trans/motor mounts. Plus the 2g is a better transmission.

I believe the transmission can bolt on fine but the only difference is the flywheel. If you want to use the 2G transmission then you will require a 6 bolt flywheel and if you are using the 1G transmission then there is no change needed.

Just like luvmygst said. The 1g trans WILL NOT work in the 2g, The 2g trans has the mounts on it and a 1g does not,

how is a trans mounted in a 1g then if it doesnt have mounts on it??

also what about durability, ive heard people say that the 2g trannies are not as strong as the 1g. how far can one push a 2g tranny?
