Since this morning, my car has white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. I can see it the best when at idle. I've read on how the HG and turbo going bad is the most likely culprit, but my compression is good, and I put my turbo on in june, so it should'nt be going out on me yet. The only thing I changed was the oil last night. I use ( and have used) 10w 30 mobil1 and a can of restore to help with the lifter tick I had. Is there anything from the oil change that would cause this? I'm going to the track in about a week so i need to get this figured out asap. Thanks.

DSMs are very notorius for the exhaust valve guides going out. You will only see smoke at idle and sometimes start up. It is not noticeable while driving, the best way to see if this is the problem is to pull the exhaust mani off and take a flash light and look at the valves, you will see oil running down them. Thats what I had to do to the talon when i bought it.

I was thinking about them being the culprit. But why would it just start after i do an oil change? That's what seems weird to me. Everything was fine yesterday and before the oil change. I have no coolant in oil, or vice-versa. I'm waiting for my car to cool down so I can check the turbo...

maybe you just had some built up condensation that was being burnt off when you started the car?

White color smoke generally means coolant burning in the combustion chamber. Headgasket is most likely the culprit, but a cracked cylinder wall will do it as well. Do a leak down test to figure it out. Any oil in the coolant/coolant in the oil yet? Overheating problems?

Nope all is good with the coolant. My oil/coolant is regular. My compression is good, no overheating problems, I just can't think of anything else. Just all of the sudden after I changed my oil. I really don't want to drive to the track and find out halfway there that my car won't be able to run. I just drove it again and nothing has changed out of the norm except the smoke. I'll check my plugs, as well. Thanks for the help guys, does anyone have any other ideas?

I have an extra set of vc gaskets and spark plug gaskets just laying around so I could try that. I was driving my car again tonight and when I had it in park it was smoking, but I went and drove it pretty hard and parked it again, it wasn't doing it anymore. Does that help? I'm totally lost on this one.
