This may be a dumb question but why the heck are my rear rotors vented!!CHECK OUT PIC

Ok well Im in the middle of an AWD conversion and I just finished up the rear subframe swap and I was very confused when I saw my donor car a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD with ABS has vented rotors!!! Im defenetly not complaining I love to autocross and stuff, but I was under the impression all 2g rear brakes were the same. Heres a pic of it check it out

Nope, its not uncommon for 95s to have vented rear rotors. If I remember correctly they are the same rotors 3000gt used. Lucky.....

The early 95s (cars manufactured up to 10/94) have the vented rotors. Be careful that you are getting the correct parts if you have to buy any replacement rotors, calipers, ect.. in the future, the variation in the early and later 95s can cause some confusion with auto parts retailers.

It's highly unlikely that you will ever overheat your rear brakes, but the vented ones are the better ones!

My 95 GSX had them too.

Where the hell do I get break pads for these?! I want some nice Hawk HPS, but there only choices are... " (95-99) FWD front (95-99) AWD front (95-99) rear (fits all) "

but we know very well it doesnt fit all!!! If I were to guess these rear brakes are the same on a 3000GT vr-4... anyone know!? i need pads soon!

You can get vented OEM style rotors for all DSMs at AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts.

if your refeering to the vented rotors from the front then those wont work. In the 2g the ebrake is a drum on the inside of the rear rotor and they need to be specially made for that front rotors wont work. My question was the breakpads though the only site that acually has them is RRE and they dont have the company I like. anyone know what other car has vented rear rotors other than the rare 95 GSX's that were produced in 1994

I use the "performance" rotors from Advance Auto Parts specifically for the rear, and they are vented. I use my parking brake daily, so they work for me. Been using them on both my DSMs for years.

hm well a 1998 shouldnt have vented rotors in the rear. You told them you had a 1998 GSX and the right pads came up. Are you sure there vented could you take a pic?
