Clutch issues

ok my friend just picked up a 93 tsi awd... the guy said it needed a new slave cylinder. We replaced that and the master bled the clutch like you are supposed to but the clutch still sticks to the floor.

Could it nee a new clutch...? a few people told me clutch or pressure plate
any advice welcome

Did you adjust the Master Cyl rod and/or the cruise control/clutch "stops"?

Is the slave cyl plunger pushing out against the clutch fork at all on depressing the clutch?

If not, then you either have air in the lines or something mechanical is wrong with the hydrolic system or not adjusted correctly. Are you sure you bled the lines correctly? It's much easier to do if you run a clear line of nylon hose (Home Depot/AutoZone has it) from the bleeder screw to a half filled bottle of brake fluid (e.g. submerged) to ensure no air gets back into the system.

Make sure you keep the Master Cyl fluid level up while doing this as well

Amen! this works for all of my tranny swaps / clutch replacements. Also, I'd like to say that there's no way a clutch pedal resting on the flow could be all that's needed to diagnose a clutch failure. Unless all the diaphragm fingers are trashed and/or the the whole assembly has broken to pieces, there is no way a pedal to the floor is a symptom of a faulty clutch disk, perssure plate, or fly wheel.
