my iac is on the fritz so I bought a new one from napa ,but mitsubishi service says it needs to be calibrated is this true or are they only out to get my money?

how could the computer lose that kind of info as to where the the iac should be stepped at?

Thanks guys, what has been been happening was my baby has been stuttering pretty bad,got new plugs, boost test holds 17lbs for well over 40 seconds ,cel was on,I was stumped so I took it to satan and they said my iac was stuck at zero steps,so they restepped it for 80 bucks..The car seemed to run better until I pulled my battery the next day to put on a fuel pressure gauge..So I called back satan and they told me that becouse I pulled my battery I have to have it restepped...I had to take a chit on that:notgood: But was actually wondering if theres any trick to putting the new one on ,like if I should reset the battery, I cant trust any thing any dealership says, thanks for the links .one other thing is that my idle is fine right at 800 but it just has a case of the stutters, can the iac just cause that?
