Well I got a call from the machine shop today and it looks like I need to invest in some new cams too, I wasn't expecting to have to but I guess it's just another excuse to go faster right!

Well anyway, my entire engine is being rebuilt right now. It's going to be a big rod, with 2G piston setup, and besides the pistons everything else is going to be pretty much stock. It's my daily driver so I want it to be driveable.

I eventually would like to get anywhere from 300-400 horses out of it. It won't be able to do that now, but I'd like to only purchase these expensive things once.

So what do you guys think, what would you go with?

I've been thinking about going with the Brian Crower 272 combo. Everyone says they are still streetable and cost effective. But since you want about 300-400 hp, you can get that with stock cams. The best thing to do is go to the junkyard and pick up a set from there. They should be pretty cheap but some places try to scam you. If you do decide to go this route, stay from all 1990 cams as they have the smallest lift and duration. The best ones to look for are 1993/1994 cams, but I can't remember if the turbos had the higher lift or the non turbos. It's on here somewhere, you'll just have to look.

I agree with Ryan on th BC or the stock there is also another option for you that I have had good experiences with. You can try comp 101200 cams. They are going to be similair to the 272's and are also very streetable. Any other questions just ask. :thumb:
