Okay, so, I've been doing the routine things to check the health of my GSX ... slowly but surely. I did a boost leak test today. The reason I did this is because when I boost in the top end of my gears (5.5k - 7k) I get pops through my exhaust here and there and a little bit of black smoke. I'm assuming I'm running rich and that I have a boost leak somewhere.

Well, anyway, did my boost leak and it took me a second to pin-point the leak, but here it is. It's a little screw on the throttle body that seems to be adjustable. But on my car, it's EXTREMELY rusted and stripped out. I wanted to see if I could take it out and replace it with a fresher one... Do I need to remove the whole throttle body to do this? And, what does this particular screw do? Should it leak air like crazy with only 3 psi in the pipes? I can't even imagine how much it's leaking at like 12-14 psi. Thanks.:dsm:

** Edit **

BTW, the BOV is running uncirculated (that's how it was when I bought it) and the Dejon doesn't have an elbow to re-circulate. I plan to get a blow-through setup soon, but I wanted to pin-point this leak and how to remedy it first. I plan to eventually buy a FMIC and go with a blow through setup. I'm just looking for a temporary fix that isn't going to cause me to run rich in the top end of my gears. Also, since I've been adjusting that screw, my idle (which was ~1400) is now down to 1000, if it can settle. If I'm driving and take it out of gear, regardless of speed, it dies without some throttle. ALL Help appreciated.

If you go to the sixth one down (BISS Idle Adjustment Screw and O-ring). I would just replace the whole thing. Only way I can think to get the old biss screw out is to drill it out and use an extractor to get it out.

I would also get that bov recirculated asap or run a blow threw set up like you said. Running an uncirculated bov with no blow through set up will make your car run like crap.

Thanks for the info. Wasn't quite sure what that thing is. Now, secondly, does it do anything to idle if adjusted by screwing in or out? Right now I have it screwed in as far as It will go, with the head being stripped. Where should it be screwed into? My idle didn't get all sketchy until I messed with that (it was just high before 'cause of a bad intake and uncirculated BOV). Is the reason it's leaking because of the O-ring probably being trashed?

No problem. That screw is to adjust the idle. Here is a writeup that tells you how to adjust the screw correctly. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/BISS-1G.html

I would definatly just change the screw and o-ring. The leaky o-ring will cause a boost leak and bad idle. Good luck.
