I had the lower pipe, aft of the J pipe before the intercooler, replaced with a steel pipe. Went to a muffler shop and had them measure and bend the pipe. I have felt the car respond much faster, as if the lag has been greatly reduced. Last is the top pipe right before the throttle body. If any one is up for it they should try this out too. Oh yeah it only cost me 10 bucks.

I noticed a little difference. Maybe you had a boost leak there or something that was robbing you of power. I thought it seemed to sound louder the spool up and all but actual gains I think were pretty minimal. Not trying to rain on your parade or anything. It might have added more power for you. I did upper and lower at once.
I now got a fmic but had the hard stock intercooler piping for a little while on my car.

HAHAHAHA....Thanks for the rain, but you may be right, maybe it was a boos leak. Maybe it's just in my head and I'm stomping on the pedal a bit harder, but I do feel a difference.

The cheapest and biggest bang for the buck upgrade that I did was the upper intercooler pipe. I bought a Dave Brode with 1G BOV off of EBay for $100 and the difference floored me! It may have been a leaky 2g BOV robbing my power, but the UICP made a huge difference!
