Hey tuners,

My question is where is a good general settings for lo and high. I know that (450/660)-1 = -32 so is -25 in both settings a good place to start. I have searched throughout the forums that with 660 some cars are about -30, but with smaller turbos. My bolt-on 35r was a big step from my small 16g. I have upgraded with walbro 255, AFPR, hks external wastegate with dumptube.

Later down the line is dsmlink and larger injectors. but I couldn't dyno due to machine problems with dyno, so I want to street tune more myself.

thanks

The Lo Throttle settings can be done in your driveway by using your logger to watch both LTFT and STFT. Start where you suggested, about -25%, and free rev to your first Ne Point. Watch the trims and adjust the SAFC until they add up to about zero. Then move to your next Ne Point and do the same thing. Once you reach 4k, you can take those settings and copy them accross the rest of the Ne Points on the Lo Throttle map.

For the Hi Throttle map, you want to start by setting your SAFC to about -25%. Set your logger to display TPS and go WOT for a second or two just to verify that the TPS reads about 100%. Then drop TPS from the log and make a 3rd gear pull from 2.5k to redline. This time you want to log timing, Front O2, rpm and airflow. Then post up the log and we'll help you out.

yup, use a logger and/or get a wideband. Its the same old story as far as trying to get a baseline for safc settings, every car is different. Borrow or buy a logger and you can tune it the right way....

I have a pocket logger, well I will do some logs tonight because I want to run the track tomorrow at the California speedway.
thanks for the help

Hey i am about to get a SAFC-2, and upgrade to 660 or 680 injectors. I have a pocket logger to help do the tuning, but my question is will the SAFC do the job. I have an BigEVO16G turbo and want to run about 20 psi??

sell the safc2 and get an emanage or dsmlink. safc are a waste of time. you can't do timing adjustments.

but yes...it can do the job, but it will be at the edge of it's tuning capabilities with the 650's

Yea, I decided that I minus well go ahead and get DSM Link because with a chip and a SAFC it would be about 400 so minus well spend a little more and get something that i won't have to replace
