i bought this and it was already converted but soon after the head messed up an i just replaced it an i think it's gettin too much gas it will start with a set of good plugs but they foul out in a few minutes. then won't start again. but will start if i unhook the fuel inj. then plug them in while cranking when it starts to hit. also i noticed that the fuel press. reg. is run staight to the man. and not to a solenoid. i think i found the solenoid but the wires have been cut an no sign of where the hook up and when i do get it started it smokes white an a little black......help needed a.s.a.p.

ok, First step is to get cleaning, clean throttle body, EGR and tube, look for any build ups in the vacume hoses, get new PCV valve for proper flow, along with checking the intake pipe for a lil excess amounts of oil. and the fuel pressure regulator should'nt have any wires. should be connected to fuel rail and a single vacume hose to make it work(other then in and out gas lines) also inspect for any busted vac lines out from the intak manifold.

when i test drove it it ran fine but since i've had to tear it down i've noticed that the egr valve isn't hooked up and in the books it says the on a turbo motor a vaccuum line goes from the fuel press. reg. to a fuel press. solenoid then from that to the manifold an the wires on the solenoid are cut i read somewhere ealier but i can't find it now that u have to hook up 4 wires to the ecu (mafs, egr sol., detonation sen., and fuel sol.)

u have any idea of where the wires need to be hooked up? could that solenoid not being hooked up make my car run too rich an foul the plugs out?

give me a lil, i will dig you out the schematics for your car and the turbo version. Yes if your fuel pressure regulation is not right it will make you run rich or lean, if you have to much vac on the regulator it will hold the diaphram open letting fuel pressure out causing no pressure and no vac on the regulator will cause more gas to build up. And it sounds like you can rule out your milisec pulse for the injectors because your flooding fuel time not just start up.

My car does the same thing where my milsec pulse is 180 during start up which is equal to top fuel drag cars, all because my ECU is messed up thinking that my idle air control valve has a malfunction. But you flood duel time not just starting from what it sounds like.

Also have you checked to see if any of your injectors are stuck open,

You do really need to get a logger on that car to look at those lil things like your pulse times and such. it makes a big difference, thank god i have good friends that have the big red brick snap on ones that are for any cars.
