used clutch

I see a bunch of cheap pressure plates with disks and alignment tools, basically the whole clutch kit for half the price. Usually these kits have like 5k or 2k on them and I see them everyday in the classifieds.

Has anyone ever used a previously used clutch kit? Would you recomend it or not. This is one of those 2:15am questions that bugs me when I cant sleep.

i did that with a ford didnt have a problem, except for a little rubbing noise once in awhile

I personally wouldn't, just because you don't know the amount of abuse they already put it through. That's just my take on it.

Sure they do. And they're all freeway miles, too. Don't buy a used clutch.

Theres nothing wrong with a used clutch, just don't expect much. I wouldnt put a used clutch into a dsm just because oem clutches are fairly cheap and the clutch replacement is not.

I bought a used one for a dsm on ebay and the ends were all frayed out. He and was worn way close to the rivets. Dont buy on ebay. If you got a friend that you can see it and make sure it is all good then go for it
