I would go with the ECU plus over the SAFC in my oppinion. Seems to have more functionality and "tweak" ability.

Though I cannot speak from experience on either ECU+ or SAFC... I've only owned DSMLink. But I thought very heavily between ECU+ and DSMLink and decided to spend the extra cash for DSMLink.

but it says that it will not work with dsm cars on their web site.

thats why i wanted to ask if it could be used effictavley before i spend the money on it.

I haven't looked into it but I'm going to take a guess & say they offer two versions of ecu+, one for the evo, like you mentioned & a version for DSM's. It sounds like their not interchangeable, so you would need to get the DSM version.

As for ecu+ vs SAFC, I would say there isn't much comparison. I would take it any day over an SAFC. I had considered ecu+ back when I was looking for a "tuning package" but at the time ecu+ was missing a few features that I considered pretty major, compared to DSMLink. I believe they have since taken care of some of these missing pieces (measuring knock, fuel trims, etc) but not sure about injector compensation limits.

i cant get an safc for 130 and the ecu + for around 150

vs. 500 on up for the others you mentioned
