How Exactly to Build a 1G ALDL cable?!?

I've tried this before and all people tell me are the cables I need to buy. Well I bought the serial hotsync cable for my handspring treo 90 and all I need is the ALDL cable and all of them on ebay are like $40 to $120. I've heard people talk about buying the stuff from like radioshack or something and it costs about 10 bucks to make. What exactly do I need to buy to build a 1G ALDL cable? Thanks!
