fuel problem?

Ok i have a 91 talon tsi and to start it runs like shit. I am afraid to drive it because i dont want to injure my motor. When you are just idled the car wants to stall, when you give it gas it sputters until like 2500 then its normal rev, when you are driving it the car has no power when it first starts going it takes about 3000 rpms to get her moving, but after that it pulls fine and boosts strong. When you shift into a different gear it feels as the car loses complete power for 1 sec and then pics back up after a slight sputter. Its is not a boost leak so please dont tell me to check it , i have done so many i could do it blind folded, does anyone know what possible could be wrong. I have a severly cracked exhaust manifold that i am getting replaced but everyone is telling me that it is still not going to fix my problem PLEASE HELP A DSMER OUT ( i just got a fmic and new bov and i want to drive this bad boy!!!!!!)

Any CEL's? Have you check the ECU for leaking caps? What about timing?

that sounds alot like a problem i had after a blown turbo except i was burning off the oild in the intercooler and that made my plgs go bad i changed the plugs and was problem free so try checking your plugs could be a good start

ok well one thing that i could be, you said you just got a new bov. if your new bov isnt venting back into the intake then it is going to cause your car to want to die cause the air/fuel mix is too rich. but with the other things that you noted im not really too sure that is what it is. just a simple suggestion to check on.

check your plug wire insulators. I had a similar problemthat took me forever to find. It turned out to be the insulators were so worn that the aprk was arcing out into the side of the cylinder head before it reached the spark plug. May or may not be this...but it's an easy check. The black insulators will have white marks on them if they are bad.
