NEW TROUBLE.... SEE LAST POST PLEASE!!! we thought i needed a new MBC but i got a new one and that was not the problem.... ### ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!!

can i go from stock to a external WG ? am i gunna need anything else to make it work?

i dont know alot about this :(

whats the wastegate actuator? got any pics or anything? LOL im so clueless with wastegates...

thought all i would need was a spring or osmthing maybe

Like Dee said, you need a new actuator. It's the part that the vac line hooks to, the part with the spring inside it, the part with the long arm that stretches across the turbo from the compressor housing to the wastegate flapper arm on the turbine side. Basically, air pressure overcomes the spring, then the diaphragm inside pushes the arm down and flips open the wastegate flapper which is built into the exhaust housing.

On FP's site click "Diamond Star" on the menu on the left, then click "Turbo Hardware" and look for this:

looks like my wastegate spring in my stock wastegate aint working anymore.... its pissin me off not being able to boost much past 9-10psi.
What have you done to come to the conclusion that the wastegate is the cause? I'm not doubting your ability, just making sure you don't buy a new actuator for nothing. Many things can limit you to 9-10psi, the wastegate itself is usually the last on the list.

hmmm, well ###### about a year ago my boost droped from 15-16 psi to 10psi. and i couldnt get it anyhigher.... so i just lived with it for awhile until a couple months ago when my turbo blew up.... so i bought another shitty t-25 outta another gsx.

I thought maybe buying the turbo would help but im still only boosting to 10psi WOT. my friend called some kid who knew alot about dsm's and said it sounded like a wastegate spring gone bad. so thats where im at now.

hope hes right cuase i just bought the 99$ wastegate actuator thingy LOL

Did you try to set the MBC again? If i didn't tighten the nut down to hold the screw in place, my MBC would gradually back itself out and go down to wastegate pressure.

Upgrades like exhaust, intake, upper intercooler pipe etc will raise your boost a few psi if you don't have a boost controller. If you install a boost controller and turn it all the way down you'll get 11 psi which is the stock wastegate spring pressure.

A boost controller will allow you to increase boost from the spring pressure. So the lowest boost you can run on a stock T25 with the stock actuator is 11psi. When you get the 17psi actuator, the lowest boost you will be able to run is 17psi - without a boost controller.

If you somehow went from 15-16psi back to 10psi, and have a boost controller, check that first or disconnect the boost controller when you get hook up your new 17psi actuator from FP.

So basically nothing was done to verified his GUESS.

I strongly suggest that you put a hold on the order before shipping time. It's already Friday anyway so you won't see your order this weekend, one more day won't hurt. You need time to verified.

After you put a hold on the order, go outside and pull the vacuum line off the actuator, fold the hose back and zip-tie it, go for a test run with the actuator fitting open to atmosphere. Post back whether you can boost past 10psi.

ok, ill try that.

and YES i have a turboXS MBC.
greddy rs bov
intercooler piping
injen intake
3" thermal catback
hollowed cat.

ok i took the line from my boost controller --to-- the wastegate off and i boosted well past 20 PSI... had to let off it fast LOL.

so what now? :)

POS TurboXS bleeder mbc
IMO, the worst choice I've made for my car was deciding to buy that mbc.

To OP, Bruce is absolutely right. I should not have assumed you knew for certain the wastegate was the problem.

Now, I'll sit back and watch the show.

LOL thnx uncle bruce!!!

well my MBC has a line going to the turbo and the tail end goes to the wastegate i think. i had my buddy help me set it up , i dont know alot about this stuff ;)

oh and BTW thiers a decent amount of oil all over the boost controller... is that normal?
