I got some money I can spend now. And am looking at either some bc 272s or a water injection kit. Im not sure which water injection I would go with. But Im wondering which would benefit my setup more. I have been experincing knock. Check for boost leaks and what not. But if I was to go with water injection what could I expect to get out my stock cams with mt pte 50 trim?

I vote for Methanol Injection.

I run the Cooling Mist set-up and like it so far, except I think I have an exhaust leak and it's throwing off my WBO2 readings so I haven't tuned for it completely yet. I can make WOT pull after pull and not heat soak the SMIC. :)

Well if your alreading experiencing knock at your current boost level & its tuning related, adding cams will more then likely make the knock worse. The additional cylinder pressure created by the cams just increases the chances of knock. If you do choose the cams, you will probably have to run less boost or less timing, if your already on the tuning edge. Cams do increase your VE, so you will flow more air at the same boost vs no cams, so keep that in mind as well. If your goal is to get rid of knock & also produce some more power by either increasing boost or timing, I'd probably recommend the WI system.

Id go with cams..

Water injection is cool and all.. But to utilize it to its fullest you have to be able to tune properly..

If your getting knock on a 50trim... How much boost are you trying to run on pump gas?? You should be able to run up to around 25-26 lbs on pump if tuned properly.. If your running less than that and your knocking you need to go back to the drawing board with your tuning.. what size injectors u running / what are you using to tune with..

If you want to run super high boost there is a limit to what water injection will do for you..

Race gas is always the better way when it comes to water / meth injection :)

Cams will give you solid gains throughout your rpm range without any tuning necessary (for some gains)

Not to mention i know more than one person who has fubared a block thanks to hydrolock using water injection..

One guy was testing the spray before he started it.. then without making sure the water was cleared out he hit the key and bent a rod thanks to hydrolock..

Another guy I know had a tiny tiny leak in a valve and it was allowing water to seep down to the spray nozzle and into the intercooler piping when the car was shutoff.. one morning after letting it sit too long.. he hit the key and BLAM.. punched a nice little hole in the side of his block.

I've heard that using the 30/70 meth to water comination works quite well and solves many of the problems of all meth and all water.

Meth sometimes requires a specific pump and additional corrosion, while the water pump can use up to about 35% meth mix without any adverse effects. Likewise, water runs the risk of freezing in cold temps and may not disperse adequately - like in the hydrolock circumstances.
