Alright, Ive got a 98 eclipse with a Hyperdrive C2 Street/Strip Full Clutch Kit and Hyperdrive racing flywheel. The clutch is not very good for street driving around where i live as there is lots of stop and go traffic. Anyone have advice on a nice daily driver clutch capable for higher hp? Heres a mod list.

Short route huge fmic
hard intercooler piping with 4layer couplers and heavy duty clamps.
Greddy Type S Blow Off Valve
Inline-pro boost controller
Original MHI EvoIII Big 16G Turbo
Walbro 190 fuel pump
680cc injectors
SAFC2 AIR/FUEL Controller
Apexi N1 3" catback exhaust system
New power steering pump
2 inch racing radiator
New Hyperdrive C2 Street/Strip Full Clutch Kit
Hyperdrive racing flywheel

put a pic up further down the page

Is that going to be very tough for stop and go traffic? This clutch is very tight. Its like if im not burning out then im stalling out. Is the 2600 better for street?

The fidanza 3.2 has a lighter pressure plate and holds 395 tq. I d say that would be great for daily driving. Not the best but doable.

I read up on the fidanza, and it says:

However, since it has no marcel (cushion) this disc sacrifices a little bit of its smooth engagement.

That means its rough to engage?

I have the ACT 2100 clutch. I have really loved it so far. I have just recently added a lot of more power so don't know how it will hold up but from researching it, it should be plenty good unless you plan on making over 350whp and torque. Especially if you are not going to be doing much launching and being fwd like me I would assume not too much. If you want the added insurance I would suggest an ACT 2600. I have heard nothing but great things. Wish I had gone with that but I think my 2100 will hold up fine for a daily driver as well as not be quite as stiff. The 2100 is stiffer than stock but not be a whole lot, just enough to give it a better feel as I hate the real mushy clutch feel. The engagement with it is awesome though. Just a little tap and I can shift.

I have a slipping ACT 2100. I do however like the engagement as he stated. The 2600 is a little overkill isnt it? I have around 290-310 whp and mine slips. Even with a stock clutch in my old RS I found that my leg would still get sore in traffic. I would recommend a Southbend clutch myself. Its more aimed toward the non turbo crowd, but can hold the horsepower better than a 2100 IMO.

How many miles you got on it? I have seen people on here with over 400 whp not have theirs slip yet. I think it was actually one of the mods or wisemen. Do you race it a lot? How long ago did it start? I'm just really hoping mine will hold up as I have read it should be able to.

Well the kid I bought my car from was a complete hack. If you ever want a DSM journey read all my posts and im sure youll have a laugh. It started slipping as soon as I got rid of all my boost leaks. I currently run 15PSI and it slips about half the time. Only had around 4k miles on it when it started, leading me to beleive the kid put it in himself, or the mechanic fell asleep that put it in and forgot something. I still talk to the kid and he still plays stupid when i ask about it, what a moron.

So do you think it slipping is the cause of it not being able to handle the power, improper install or abusing it/horrible driving?(don't mean by you)

thread jacked?

??? Not jacked, trying to see if the ACT 2100 I think would be a good choice for you started slipping for this other guy cause of crappy driving or a bad install etc. I would think it would be a great choice for you. But as I posted before if you want a little extra insurance and in case you decide to ever really turn the power up, then go with an ACT 2600.

Ive not been to they dyno, anyone know what kinda numbers i may be putting down with the mods listed? Ive got the boost turned down to about 14 right now because i put the stock dp back on. I dont think ill do too much more for the car, maybe alcohol injection but i think thats about it. Thanks for all the input and help guys. This is a nice welcome being new to the forums.

I just removed my act 2600 it was to darn hard for a daily driver. I installed the new cf dfx with act street light flywheel. It engages right away in first, however the pedal pressure being featherlight makes up for it. :thumb:

i drive 4000 or so miles a month and after a lil while you get used to the 2600. if your looking to build the car more in the future go with a 2600 if not go with the 2100

will the mods i have right now be too much for the 2100? I was told that at 20 psi i would be over 300hp. Any words on that issue? Im not sure

The 2100 should be good for around 350 torque. Should work out great with that setup. This is the clutch I have. I love it. Will be getting my car back this week hopefully after being tuned and from all the searching and talking with other dsm'ers the clutch should hold up just fine. Again if you think you might ever go for a little more power than you currently are at, I know you might think you won't now but thats what I said after I was probably only around 215whp. If you ever will want more than that just go with the 2600 so you don't have to buy two clutches.
