compression on cylinders 1,3, and 4 are 150. cylinder 2 on the other hand is 100. LOL. now my question is...i've recently purchased a new turbo and was planning on just boosting on my stock block, but now that i found out that my compression was bad and all my parts are in...how long could i boost with that bad cylinder? i mean...i already ordered my new pistons and rods, but its gonna be a while before they're in. will it be ok for a while?

Well I'll use my own mistake as an example. Are you using stock head bolts and gasket? And are you planning on boosted 20psi or more? Two questions we should know before an accurate answer can be given. What I can show you is what 20psi will do to OE designed head gaskets over time.

Well, did you dump a cap full of oil in the cylinder and then check compression in that one cylinder? It seems as though it would be the ring more than anything. 150 is fine on the other 3.

yeah...i had to endure that 10 minutes of looking like a car with a blown head gasket. it is the ring, but my friend talked me into buying pistons and rods since i'll have the motor apart anyways. now i'm starting to change my mind and just buy a 6bolt and build it on the side

6 bolt, do it do it do it do it do it! You know you want to! Juts drive your car around and don't boost much until teh 6 bolt is done. Do it! :thumb:

why dont you just ask DNR to build it up for you :)

But when it comes to DSMs, no matter how much DNR has succeeded in all motor and honda apps, I go to a DSM specialist, or do it myself as you stated with your plan to build up a 6bolt. That's what I would do.

Haha, he'll be the first to admit that DSM's aren't his cup of tea, but specs are specs. I'd trust him to build my motor or tune it or whatever for that matter. But if it blows...full function here i come. haha.
